International Policing Toward 2020

  • What will international policing look like
    toward 2020?
  • How will international society evolve?
  • What major challenges will communities face?
  • How will technological and environmental changes shape the way people live and work?
  • How will all of these developments impact on crime and national security?

Some of the world’s foremost researchers and community leaders came together for an international conference to explore these and other important issues likely to shape society by 2020.

Proudly hosted by the AFP, the two-and-a-half day conference was held in Canberra, Australia, from 19 to 21 November 2007.

It provided strategic insights into the future of a more interconnected world, where global societies will seek to maintain order, prevent and detect crime, and enforce laws.
