Coral BellDr. Coral Bell is presently a Visiting Fellow at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, Australian National University. She began her acquaintance with international politics as a member of the Australian Diplomatic Service, then took to academic teaching and research at universities in Australia, Britain and the US.

Her principle research interest has been in the policy area between diplomacy, norms and strategy, and in the foreign policies of the US and Australia..

She is currently engaged on writing a monograph entitled ‘The Next Landscape of World Politics: The End of the Vasco da Gama era”.

Her most recent publications are A World Out of Balance, which deals with crisis-management and asymmetric war in the unipolar world of US paramountcy, and Living with Giants, which deals with the problems (for Australian policy in particular) of the emerging world of a restored multipolar balance.
