Dr Michael Dixon is the Managing Partner for Public Sector Asia Pacific, IBM Global Business Services. He has responsibility for the strategy development and solution delivery of consulting, systems integration and application services across Government, Health and Education for IBM’s five Asia Pacific regions.
Dr Dixon has extensive experience working with Public Sector organisations to leverage innovative business strategies and technology to deliver better outcomes for industry, and citizens. His current areas of focus include the emergence of ‘secure trade’, social services, and the dramatic development within health and related industries.
Dr Dixon has worked with policy makers, public sector executives and operational departments in the public sector in numerous countries over many years. He has presented at numerous events including APEC Summits and National Conferences across Asia and has advised Public Sector CEOs on strategy and innovation. He was a Brookings Congressional Fellow, in Washington, DC.
Prior to being appointed to his current role, Dr Dixon held a number of management and executive positions in IBM. These have been both in Australia (where he is currently based) and internationally, and have seen him responsible for the strategy, leadership and profitability of both product and services driven businesses.
Dr Dixon holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science from La Trobe University and a Master of Science from the University of Melbourne. He obtained his PhD from the University of Alberta, Canada.
