Chris StoneChristopher Stone is Daniel and Florence Guggenheim Professor of the Practice of Criminal Justice at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Professor Stone’s teaching and research focuses on the performance and leadership of national criminal justice systems worldwide and the role of civil society in the process of reform.

Professor Stone chairs the Program in Criminal Justice Policy and Management at the Kennedy School of Government and serves as chair of Altus, a global alliance of NGOs and academic centers working on criminal justice reform in Brazil, Chile, India, Nigeria, Russia, and the United States, with its Secretariat in The Hague.

In 2006, Professor Stone was awarded an honorary OBE by Queen Elizabeth for his contributions to criminal justice reform in the United Kingdom. He is a graduate of Harvard College, the Institute of Criminology at Cambridge University, and the Yale Law School.
